Yes.

I know...I am a quote fanatic but I really think that everyone should live by this quote.

I have recently started to look around and see all the things that people are passing up on because they are scared for one reason or another and it is just plain dumb. I am guilty of it too but since it is the new year, I am going to make it one of my resolutions to try and live life to the fullest. Life is too short to be taken for granted. I start to realize this more around the holidays when people I love are missing all around me. I just hope that when I get old, I can say to myself "I did everything I wanted to do and lived life to the fullest."

Anyway, a little bit of sentiment before I leave the country for a few months was necessary...my visa is finally on it's way to me in the mail after a bunch of trouble. The time is nearing, I leave to Ecuador in a week and a half. Can't wait! More to come.

Anonymity

The time is getting closer. I will be taking off to Quito in 2 1/2 weeks and am getting giddy about all the new things I will experience and the anonymity I will feel as I arrive in a brand new city. Although I have a few visa issues to still work out, I am looking forward to my time in a new place and hope that all goes according to plan and I still get to go when I am supposed to.

'Tis the season

A few holiday necessities:
Candles.

I love wearing my fur coat for the holiday season
paired with some cute heels.

Someday my house will look like this and
it will be a very white Christmas.

Red lipstick is a must.

Travels

I will be on the plane flying to Ecuador in exactly three weeks and thinking about this lends me a uneasy feeling. I am so excited and can't wait to experience a new way of life for a few months but I am getting a little sad about leaving all of my friends and family behind. I am sure that these next few months will fly right on by but it is going to all be so new that it's a little daunting.

Anyway, I have started to compile a list of things that I want to do while I'm abroad. Here is a taste:
1. Make a documentary that shows the culture and everyday life of a person in Quito, Ecuador
2. Learn how to cook the most common Ecuadorian dishes
3. Speak Spanish fluently by the end of my trip
4. Take pictures of everything
5. Travel to the Amazon Rainforest and the coast of Ecuador
and much more...

Even though this is all so new and a little frightening, I am so ready to have the time of my life and stay in contact with all of my friends while I am abroad. I can't wait to share all off my experiences here on my blog and make some great memories. More to come!

It was time...

Love this picture that I came across today. I thought I would post it, seeing as though I have recently made the switch to a Mac and it has been the best decision I've made all year. I am still discovering all of the ins and outs of the MacBook Pro and am so impressed. The interface is so simple and elegant. Love it!
