I came across this article while browsing nytimes.com. This experience that many college students got to experience is definitely a dream of mine. Although I am not sure what I want to do with my career when I graduate from college, I would jump on any opportunity to get up-close and personal with some world famous designers and get professional advice.

8. Branding Yourself
In class we have deeply discussed the idea of branding oneself and I found this article on CNN.com and thought that it was really interesting and had some great insight on the steps one should take towards branding oneself. Mark Tutton had some really great points about how to use the internet to ones advantage that will be very helpful my future, so I thought I would share!

7. Vintage Love
Recently I took a trip down to visit my best friend in Orange County, CA. While I was there I had some free time and looked in a few vintage clothing stores and that is when I realized how much I love vintage clothing. Knowing this, I got really excited when I came across this article in the New York Time Magazine online. I think that the outfits that are pieced together and the photos are gorgeous.
6. Occupy Portland
I found this video on Youtube after talking to my parents and hearing about everything that is going on in my hometown, Portland, Oregon. I always like to stay informed with current events in my hometown and I thought that this video was really inspirational and well made.

5. Oh Pinterest...Oh Procrastination
About halfway through this past summer, I discover this thing called Pinterest and I knew that I had to request an invitation and start pinning. I didn't realize how addicting it was until I had all these different boards and would be on the website for hours on end. I go to Pinterest for inspiration and to kill time. I find myself talking about things I find on Pinterest almost daily. It's pretty cool how fast something can grow and become popular. I thought I would post about it so everyone could check it out if they haven't already because if you aren't on Pinterest, you're missing out.
Found this gem on Pinterest the other day and pinned it onto my inspiration board; I thought it was a great thing to keep in mind!

4. Not Nordstrom, Treasure & Bond
While Googling "Nordstrom," I found this article that ran in the New York Times a couple of months ago. I found it very interesting because it really tied into the branding that Deb Morrison was discussing in class. After reading this article, I learned that Nordstrom has opened up a store in New York, although they have opened it under a completely different name, Treasure & Bond. Mr. Nordstrom has designed this store in a very different way than the rest of his stores; he wants it to appeal to New Yorkers. He is doing this because he has future plans of opening up a full size Nordstrom down the road and wants to know what will make it successful because it will be a huge investment.
It also mentioned in the article that this stores' profits will be given to various charities. I think that this is a great idea because it really adds on to the great brand that Nordstrom has already created for itself even though it is not directly called Nordstrom. I look forward to following this store closely and seeing how everything works out!

3. Domino Magazine
Fashion has always been a passion of mine. Ever since I was little I would doodle and sketch little outfits all over everything. Now that I am a little bit older my fashion sense has evolved and have started to think about possibly entering the fashion world after college. I love flipping through magazines and seeing awesome layouts. I came across this cover and spread while messing around on Google and fell in love. The black and white with the strong yellow really stood out to me. The geometric shapes and everything just seem so crisp and fresh. The whole thing is fashion forward but appealing to almost everyone because it is so clean.
This magazine cover and layout have really inspired me to think about possibly going into some sort of fashion magazine design after I graduate. Who knows!

2. Your Deadly Weapon
I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw this ad by PKBUM. I love the muted background color paired with the red color in the lipstick and the same one that is used with the font. This ad is so effective because it gives women the impression that they could catch anyone's attention by wearing this women and being "deadly." The strong imagery of the bullet lying next to the tube of lipstick is great, and the font definitely gives off a sexy vibe. PKBUM did a great job with this ad and made sure that it appeals to women.
